 Memories of a Dragon
« Thread Started on Mar 6, 2012, 12:58pm »

Firstly a big thank you to all those of you who have visited the 'Dragons Den', a new website which was launched towards the end of 2011.

The site, which is dedicated to exploring the history of Wivenhoe Town Football Club, through viewing historical articles and photos, to hearing the memorable and humorous thoughts of current and former followers, committee members and playing staff, has received warm feedback since its launch.

As with many similar websites, the site will only be as good as the information it is provided with. We have a host of articles to come which should generate much discussion in the future, but we would apeal for any contributions, from a simple photo with additional comments, through to simple memories of games you attended or of a player who sticks in your mind.

Over the years we have had a host of faces involved in this club, all of whom have contributed to ensuring WTFC is still alive and kicking and one with a colorful history. We must'nt forget these folk as well, so should you have a memory of a committee member through to a long serving supporter, we would love to hear from you.

Please feel free to contact us if you would like to submit an article or donate any photographs or press articles that you may have and are willing to share with us.

You can email us on with all donations to the site gratefully received.

Please explore the site and feel free to make a comment to any of the posts you read. We will aim to update the site with a new article every two weeks or so. All contributions will be welcome.

I think the site is a really good read, interesting to read the latest post with the newspaper clippings from the 1993 great escape.

Is there still any pictures or write ups during the late 90's and early 2000's of when steve Pitt and Jules were in charge, such as team phots etc...

Hi Ian, thanks for your message. Apologies to all, been more than a little lax for one reason or another but will be getting back into the site over the coming couple of weeks and give it the effort it deserves.

I am sure we have several photos of those days so leave it with me and i will be in touch via here or on facebook in a week or two's time.

Thanks Ian
Jon

Ian, there will be a squad picture and short piece on that year on the site this Saturday 8th.

Please feel free to add a comment and pass on to any team mates who may wish to add something.

Great memories during that season, espcially your val doonican roll neck!

Thanks

Just a quick post to say thank you to all those who are visiting the site. I appreciate reading the thoughts of current supporters/ players as well as those of yesteryear and i am sure i am not alone in doing so.

I have heard from one or two ex players recently and hope to be able to bring an article from a different face soon.

I'd again appeal to you all to keep checking out the site, spread the word as well as invite any supporters or ex dragons reading this to get in touch, be it with anything you can provide. We aint picky and appreciate anything, no matter how little. Be it a photo of a family member who was once involved, to a memory of a match that lives fondly (if not for the right reasons!!!), anything that will trigger others memories will be appreciated by all.

Thanks
